Coconut Oil Makes Your Dandruff Worse
The fungus causing your dandruff feeds on oils. Its main fuel source is the sebum made by your pores, but adding extra oils (like coconut) is like pouring gas on the fire.
Even though coconut oil is typically antifungal, it’s also full of lauric acid which strengthens the Malassezia fungus.
Why MCT Oil Is Safe
MCT (medium chain triglyceride) oil is made by distilling coconuts to remove the longer chain fatty acids - which feed the Malassezia fungus - while harnessing caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) acid, which the fungus can’t use as fuel.
Tip: Some MCT oils still contain lauric acid (C12) which will feed the fungus. Ours is always Malassezia Safe.

How to Use It

Before getting your good nights rest, apply a generous amount of moisturizer to your scalp.

Relax while massaging in the nourishing formula.

In the morning, wash it out with a Malassezia-safe shampoo and enjoy a peaceful scalp all day long.
Note: If you shower at night, follow the same steps as above but allow the moisturizer to absorb into your scalp for at least two hours before washing.
For textured hair, this scalp moisturizer also works great as a leave-in since the ingredients will naturally absorb into your skin. Especially for protective styles! Simply apply it 2-3x a week (or daily if you’d like) to keep your scalp happy and healthy.

The bottle is rather tiny for the price. I mix this oil with some herbs for my hair. So far, the dandruff is at bay, so good.

I’ve tried everything to soothe my daughter’s scalp. Even the dermatologist was stumped. My poor girl was suffering and had huge, lifting flakes all the time. I saw this on a social media ad and loves that there were Black girls with textured hair who attested to it working for them (representation really goes a long way). We’ve only had the product since Tuesday. I’m leaving this review on Sunday. I haven’t seen any flakes. She’s no longer scratching like crazy (still some scratching, which is my cue to grab the product). She currently has braids and the product hasn’t ruined her protective style. I’m so relieved to have found this, and so is she!

I've always struggled with dandruff, but for the past few months my condition had worsened. Any produce I used or how often I washed my hair would help. Until MCT Scalp Moisturizer. At one point I felt like I had cradle cap or alopecia, but using this product I've seen such a major difference in just a small amount of time. I would definitely recommend using if you have dry itchy scalp and shedding. I now have little to no dandruff and minimal shedding when washing.
