Why Most Vitamin C Serums Lose Their Sparkle

Typical vitamin C serums are made with ascorbic acid

which oxidizes quickly and can decay within months. In other words, much of the potency can be lost while the bottle is sitting on a shelf.

Ascorbic acid is also more acidic and irritating to your skin.

Ascorbic Acid In Most Vitamin C Serums

1

Loses potency while on the shelf

2

Less
Bioavailble

3

More irritating
To skin

The Gold Standard of Vitamin C

You deserve the best. So we use sodium ascorbyl phosphate (SAP), a naturally occuring form of vitamin C that is far more stable, gentle, and bioavailable than ascorbic acid.

Meaning you get better results without the irritation.

Science-Backed Benefits

Vitamin C (especially in SAP form) has been shown to…

Protect Against UV & Oxidative Stress

Boost Collagen Production

Brighten & Balance Skin Tone

Prevent Acne & Regulate Sebum

👆 The first three are essential for slowing and reversing the age of your skin.

Aloha to Youthful Glow

Every drop is filled with the Hawaiian super-nutrient astaxanthin, shown in multiple studies1, 2, 3, 4 to…

  • Improve Skin Elasticity
  • Protect Against UV Damage
  • Improve Moisture Content
  • Prevent & Reverse Wrinkles
  • Balance Skin Tone & More

Size Matters When It Comes to Hydration

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is well-loved for its hydrating benefits. But most skincare products use a cheaper HA with a molecular size that is too large to penetrate deeply.

We use the ideal size HA, based on the latest research.5, 6

HYALURONIC SCALE

TOO SMALL

Irritating to skin (Under 50k Daltons)

PERFECT

Hydrate & soothes skin (50-200k) Daltons

TOO BIG

Can’t penetrate skin (Over 200k Daltons)

HYALURONIC SCALE

Irritating to skin (Over 25k Daltons)

TOO BIG

More Age-Defying Ingredients

200x Aloe Vera

Soothe your irritated skin and calm inflamed skin

Squalane Oil

Moisturize several layers deep with one of the only oils safe for malassezia-prone skin

Vitamin B3

Reduces oil production, calms redness, minimizes pores, and balances skin tone

Vitamin C Serum

Purified water, sodium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin C), niacinamide (vitamin B3), astaxanthin, squalane oil, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, 200x concentrated aloe vera, benzyl alcohol, xanthan gum, guar gum, sorbitol

Keeping it Zen

We practice ingredient minimalism. Our goal is to keep the list of ingredients humble while formulating products more effective than anything else. That’s why you won’t find parabens, sulfates, fragrances, or hard-to-pronounce chemicals. Those are the opposite of peaceful.

How to Use It

  • 1

Apply evenly to your face and neck daily in the morning, at night, or both.

  • 2

For best results, use after cleansing with a malassezia-safe cleanser.

Works Great For Being In The Sun. Hydrates the skin well. I’ve added it to the routine.

Didn't work for me, but may for others

This serum caused my seborrheic dermatitis to be irritated. I tried it for a week, noticed the redness and stopped. The redness has improved since I stopped using it. I recommend all of their other products though! This item might work for others as well!

    Hydrating Vitamin C Serum Review

I've been using this since it just got released more than a month ago. I had a breakout but has now subsided. Also, when after starting to use this, my mom asked me what have I been putting on my face as it looked clearer. Will continue to use this

    First try

Ellen, thank you for sharing your experience with the Vitamin C Hydrating Serum. Our vitamin C serum is very hydrating, so you may want to try applying it at night so it has more time to absorb into the skin before applying make up in the morning. If you have any questions please reach out to our team at support@dermazen.co 🤗
